From Prayer to Pour – The Light Behind Phanos
Phanos was born out of prayer, purpose, and a deep desire to serve. After becoming a born-again Christian, I (Monique) found myself captivated by the Proverbs 31 woman—a woman of virtue who “works with her hands… perceives her merchandise is good… and whose lamp does not go out by night.” (Proverbs 31:13, 18)
As I prayed for God to show me how to grow in virtue, one thing stood out: create something with my own hands that could bless others. I thought about how much peace and joy I feel when lighting a candle after cleaning my home—a soft glow, a comforting scent, a sense of calm. I knew I wanted to share that feeling with the world.
While studying my Bible, I discovered Phanos—Greek for “torch” or “lantern.” The name was perfect. God confirmed it over and over, and within weeks my husband and I dove into research, learned the craft, and began pouring candles with intention and love.
But Phanos is more than candles—it’s a mission. We give back 10% of all profits to our local community, with the hope of doing even more in the future. Every candle is a prayer, a light, and a reminder that…

What are the differences between the classic style candle and the new style?
Our classic candles are our original brand and are mostly seasonal. They use
soy wax as opposed to our new brand which use coconut soy wax which allows
for a slower burn making it last longer. They are both strong and slow burning but
our new brand (best sellers) is just a bit better.
Do you offer a flameless option?
We offer wax melts in our top selling scents (new brand). This option is available
in the drop-down menu for each of those scents.
Candles tend to give me headaches and aggravate me allergies. How are your candles
different?
Our candles are made with coconut soy wax, premium fragrance oils that are
free from phthalates and non-toxic wicks. That means that they don’t any of
those harsh chemicals that most candles made with paraffin wax or wax blends
have. Our candles won’t have black smoke coming off them which means no
nasty chemicals burning into the air that cause those headaches and allergies!
